Tax Credit Investment – We have extensive experience in investing in development projects or businesses that generate tax credits.  These credits include:

  • Federal Historic Tax Credits – Offered to developers to encourage rehabilitation of historic buildings.
  • Low Income Housing Tax Credits – Provided to finance the development and construction of affordable rental housing.
  • New Markets Tax Credits – Available for operating businesses or real estate projects located in designated low income communities.

Construction Lending and Bridge Financing – Due to our expertise in tax credits and the flexibility of our banks, The Bank of Holland and The Bank of Northern Michigan, we offer bridge financing and construction loans for tax credit projects.  As both the investor and bridge lender, we provide a one-stop-shop for financing alternative assets.

Mezzanine Financing – If you’re looking for a partner to finance growth or expansion, our Merchant Banking team provides mezzanine financing to fund unique opportunities. Through our partnership with GrowMichigan we can serve as a financing source for business transition and growth. 

Loan Purchases – We are actively seeking to buy loans or debt portfolios from financial institutions, finance companies, or other sources.

Marty Richardson, Senior Managing Director
With her combined commercial real estate and banking experiences, Marty Richardson is uniquely qualified as InSite Capital's leading banker. Marty joined LMFC with deep knowledge of and experience in C&I, asset-based lending, and real estate development, including financial due diligence, debt and equity restructuring, and affordable housing development. Marty is known for ‘thinking outside the box’ and developing creative solutions to complex financial challenges.
 
A native of Western Michigan, Marty attended undergraduate school at Hope College and attained her MBA from Western Michigan University.

Chip Windisch, Managing Director
Chip started his career in banking in 2007 and shortly thereafter joined the Professional Development Program at Lake Michigan Financial Corporation. He enjoys working with the unique and complex financing structures that accompany these complex financial deals. With his expertise in tax credit investments he is able to help clients unlock equity or access alternative sources of funding.

Chip has his MBA from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI, where he also received a degree in finance.

Sadie Erickson, Associate
Sadie started her banking career in 2011 when she joined the Professional Development Program at Lake Michigan Financial Corporation. She enjoys working with clients to create unique structures that allow real estate projects to become a reality. Using her analytical skills, she is able to help develop and underwrite loans and tax credit investments.
 
Sadie earned a degree in Finance from Grand Valley State University, where she is also currently pursuing her MBA.
